Education & Outreach

Part of VEWS's mission is education and outreach Partnering with Next Up Richmond and Henderson Middle School, VEWS volunteers taught 8 after-school sessions of horsemanship to students this Spring. 

Students learned about horse safety, communication, grooming, basic leading, and handling.  In addition to working with our rescue horses, students also participated in various teamwork activities.

Horses, volunteers, and students enjoyed their time together making connections.
